Phobia Project, September 2022

Medium: Digital/Photoshop

This project was about phobias! We had to choose a phobia to focus on, and we had to exaggerate the irrationality of them. I chose the fear of snakes- and to exaggerate it, I chose to illustrate Medusa! My original idea was the fear of hair, but then swapped to fear of snakes to really dramatize Medusa with her snake locks. I portrayed her in the bathroom attempting to tame her hair with brushes and pins in the back, but the snakes are fighting back and attacking her. This was a super fun concept that I had a great time developing!
